I loved that it wasn't very big, yet there was plenty to do there, and it was beautiful as well. I really enjoyed hiking up around the Aksla. There were plenty of excursions that could be done from there, and the scenery was gorgeous. It was very easy getting around the town, whether on fun or via public transportation, and it was relaxing.

Alesund is very beautiful seen from above so make sure you go to Aksla viewpoint where you arrive.
You will love the city if you love the Art Nouveau style.
I am not a fan of this type of architecture so I was not amazed by the city while I was walking in. There is a bit of lack of life and it's very quiet.
However, the landscapes and the nature all around the city is absolutly stunning so this is a great reason to visit this town.

Great city to end my trip around the famous Norwegian Fjords. Clean and walkable city center. Don’t miss out on the 400 steps to the view point above the park. A few restaurants to choose from. Visit the Ålesund aquarium and take a stroll around the old harbor area.

Alesund is a nice town, with much to see. We only thought that there wasn't a lot to do in the evening. For excursions there is plenty of possibilities. Two days is enough for me. Nice that we have seen this.

We were there too late in the season to do the things we wanted to do. The fjord trip was great, but I was hoping to get to Geiranger and Trollsteigen. A pretty place, but not much to see or do in October.

Ålesund is not a nice stay for people who enjoy nature.
Ålesund is not a nice stay for people who enjoy nature. We did the walk to the summit but that was all we enjoyed. So glad we did not stay two nights. It’s a very strange place with few places to eat.
One of the prettiest hotels I've ever had the pleasure to stay in! We loved the unique designs of the entrance, lobby, dining area, lounges, and outdoor spaces. We enjoyed the large windows and high ceilings of our room, and the beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious! The location of the hotel was very convenient for walking around downtown Alesund. Overall, we had an excellent stay, and wished we could have spent more nights there.
This was almost the best accommodation of our 2000-km road trip in 2023. Do not keep scrolling, choose this one! Its location and the access to the room is No1. I just love the way the whole place looks - it is a concrete-built, modern building with many small staircases and hallways, both inside and out. And the room was bigger and more liveable than I thought by the pictures. Finally the bad was the biggest one of our trip to Norway!
The hotel is full of design. The room is very big and comfortable. Washroom is also big, has shower and bath, and floor heating. There are nice plants outside of windows. Breakfast is very good. There is no hotel parking, but there’s parking underground which belongs to a shopping mall. Location is good, very close to city center and Aksla viewpoint. Service staff are very friendly, they prepare breakfast boxes for us at 4:30 am.
This hotel was awesome. The room was perfect. It was large - 2 very nice swivel chairs! The room was much larger than we have been in Norway. Places to unload suitcase which I really appreciated. We did splurge on a view room and it looked to the city and water. So charming. In fact, every time we came into the room we were blown away by the view. The breakfast was very good. It was one of our best stays in Norway!
It’s located in the city of Alesund. Easy to find anything you need and not far from the attraction spots. The room is quite large, It is suited for our groups (4persons). And the equipments in the kitchen are provided enough for cooking. It looks like the room just be renovated so it’s quite new inside the room. The wifi is fast and there is smart tv so you can enjoy youtube or etc.
The apartment was spacious and well-appointed with modern hob, oven, dishwasher, microwave and washing machine, and sufficient crockery & cutlery.
Beds and couches were comfortable
The location was excellent close to the centre of Ålesund
The communication with the owner was good and his directions to the property and free parking space (much appreciated) were accurate
Breakfast buffet was reasonable. Auto coffee machines were available all day. Easy walking around to get to see the older part of town with interesting buildings. Hard to find a restaurant that wasn't focused on pizzas. Visited Alesund to take the UNESCO rated fjord cruise. That was the best part of being there!
We loved staying here in the old barn! So roomy and cozy! We loved the big kitchen and the den downstairs. So nice to be able to spread out. Location was perfect for us, being out of the way but not far from Alesund. Would book here again for sure! Also the host was so very helpful!
The breakfast was delicious with a variety of foods.
The location was convenient to the hurtibàten and Hurtigruten.
We appreciated being able to leave ice packs in the freezer We appreciated being able to leave luggage at the hotel until our return.
The apartment was very well equipped with all essential items on bathroom, laundry room and kitchen for use them.
Spacious bedrooms with big and confortable beds.
Close to the center and shops.
Free parking is a plus in Alesund.
Linda’s house is conveniently located just outside Aalesund, and has too many great features for one review). We liked before all her attitude (as arrived late), private parking spot, spacious bedrooms, and of course the sauna.
The hotel is in a good central location. Parking is located not far from there. Comfortable stay, quite and clean room
Very good place to stay overnight
Reception personnel was helpful. Thanks for hospitality
Comfortable, clean and airy apartment close to the park and centre of Alesund, within easy walking distance of shops and harbour. Great communication and easy parking. Great value. Highly recommended.
Clean room and a nice glass balcony to see the waterfront. Love the many sitting areas to view the nice waterfront. Breakfast spread ok. Need to pay for parking near hotel. Overall ok with our stay.
The campsite manager, Christopher, was thoughtful for we bikepackers for a late check-in contact in a raining and windy evening;) Plus, our cabin had a great and peaceful view from Ålesund.
This was easily the most comfortable and convenient hotel I have ever stayed in! The cleanliness, friendliness of the staff, the amenities and the food were all exceptional.
The apartment was so close to most attractions. Was super clean. Frode was a good host with friendly and necessary communication. Great value for Money for Norway.
The hotel is close to bus route 65 that goes to the Ålesund airport. The lobby, bar, and restaurant are attractive.
The restaurant food was quite good.
