Rouen is a most attractive town with wonderful gothic and timber framed buildings. Extremely walkable everywhere. Lots of fun speciality shops, decent groceries and good restaurants. Lively with lots of sidewalk cafe people watching. Viking river cruise boats stop here and during the mid-day you will see big cruise boat tours coming from Le Harve. The train station is very tidy, helpful and convenient.

Our last visit was 10 years ago and Rouen has changed.
Our last visit was 10 years ago and Rouen has changed. The charming pedestrian street to the Horloge is peppered with American fast-food joints and the bodies of the homeless sleeping under the arches. It certainly detracts from the historic city of Jeanne d'Arc.

Stunning city with beautiful architecture.
Stunning city with beautiful architecture. Easy to park and to get around. Plenty of pedestrian streets. Highly recommend a visit to the cathedral - free entry and open quite late. The Sunday market was amazing - a combination of food stalls, clothing, antiques and books. Could happily have spent a couple of hours there. The city also has a great selection of independent shops and of course lots of cafes and restaurants.. Well worth a visit

There were very many historical buildings and churches in Rouen - it is not just an industrial town. We had a one night stay on our way further south on a motoring holiday, but will happily visit again. It is within easy reach of London.

A fabulous city with its winding medieval streets.
A fabulous city with its winding medieval streets. The Abbey of St Ouen is as spectacular as the Cathedral, and the Musé des Beaux Arts has some wonderful art. We enjoyed the beer garden and interior of Brasserie Ragnar's Église-Brasserie at Église Saint-Nicaise and we loved the city's pride in it's viking heritage!
We just expected more from a KYRIAD hotel, because we arrived from St Malo, where we stayed at the same hotel. The staff was friendly. There were 2 parking options (free - in front of the hotel, paid - in the garage below the hotel), but you don't find every day a parking spot in these 2 locations. The hotel is located in a vicinity of a busy avenue, but you didn't hear the noise of the street. After a 10-15 minute walk, you reach the Centre of Rouen which is surprisingly a beautiful city.
The staff were exceptionally helpful. As we had never been to Rouen before all of the advice we were given on what to do and how to get around was excellent. We were upgraded to a larger room, this is always nice. Breakfast included was more than adequate. For me with a gluten intolerance, I was catered for, however, I did give advanced notice. A good idea if you are in this situation.
Loved this place, it was prefect. We travelled 3000 miles around France and stayed in various hotels etc, this was by far the best. Bed was so comfortable, and all the extras such as slippers, tooth brushes, air con etc were lovely. The staff were friendly and attentive, would definately stay here again and highly recommend
Very comfortable hotel in a great location with warm and helpful staff. We didn't try the breakfast --we slept through it because of jetlag--but the restaurant looked lovely. The hotel was right by the train station, which was an excellent location for Rouen; perfect soundproofing meant that the room was very quiet.
The location was exceptional, very close to everything that you might want to see in Rouen. Generally very quiet but I think that was because the hotel was nearly empty. On my first night I heard noise until 1am but I don’t think the people above were doing anything particularly noisy, just talking normally.
The hotel, which is fundamentally a senior home, is very well located, not so far from the public transport. The staff was very friendly and nice, especially Stefie. The apartment was very big, comfy, bright and quiet. I will come back there whenever I will come to Rouen.
Located in Rouen city centre this hotel occupies a historic building in a pedestrianised area, conveniently placed for city centre parking and restaurants. Friendly staff and good continental breakfast. Cycles were securely parked inside the hotel. Thoroughtly recommended
the location of the boutique Hotel Cardinal was lovely, with an amazing view of the Rouen Cathedral. It’s an old building but beautifully updated. The staff was really nice, and we felt very comfortable on our weekend stay. The location was handy to all of the sights.
Very hard not to like this charming hotel next to the wonderful Cathedral.A bit old fashioned in a good way but a spiffing location next to the best restaurant street I've ever seen.Excellent breakfast and attentive staff.Near to 24 hour car park.
the hotel is very central and right next to a metro stop. just 2 stops from the old town and 3 stops from Rouen Rive Droit train station. and it’s very quiet for being literally right next to the Metro. the staff are friendly and helpful.
Rouen! Vibrant, happy place, full of history, … it’s what I expected France to be like, after disappointing start in CDG, and long trip to Gare St. Lazare, then to Vernon. Missed our reservation to Giverny.
Stylish hotel, centrally located in Rouen with large wood paneled rooms. Very comfortable bed, service and valet parking (Pierre) were all 5 star. Also the breakfast was excellent.
Great location to explore Rouen, just minutes away from all the main sites. Quiet, clean, stylish and comfortable hotel. Really helpful and friendly staff. We loved our stay!
